DARA OUY is President and Founder of the Cambodian Basketball Alliance. A native of Phnom Penh, his family moved to New York City when he was a young child. It was while in New York that he became an avid fan of the New York Knicks and he gained a deep appreciation for the game of basketball. Most importantly, he learned the positive influence that sports can have on individuals, the community and the nation. Since his early years, his love of the game has not floundered. He’s aware that by promoting the game of basketball in his homeland at a high level he can help Cambodia tremendously, both socially and economically.

He has become a successful businessman in the U.S. and is fully committed to transferring the skills he attained there to the efforts of the CBA. He has a firm belief that engaging the youth and communities of Cambodia in competitive sports is a way to deeply enrich their lives. He realizes that promoting the professional game of basketball in Cambodia is a powerful and effective way that his beloved homeland can its place on the world stage of competitive sports. He has the skill to bring a well-rounded group of people on the journey with him.
